Malasakit Centers in Cavite
A Malasakit Center is a one-stop desk inside a hospital where patients can ask for medical and financial assistance from the DOH, PhilHealth, DSWD and PCSO in one place. Republic Act No. 11463 requires a Malasakit Center in every DOH hospital.
- Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital, Bacoor: opened July 7, 2021
- General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital, Trece Martires: opened January 2020
Even in a private hospital, ask for the medical social worker. Under the same law, patients who cannot pay can still be assessed for help.
Public or private: which hospital should I go to?
- In a life-threatening emergency, go to the nearest hospital with an emergency room, or call 911.
- If cost is a concern, ask about the Malasakit Center at STRH in Bacoor or GEAMH in Trece Martires.
- For specialist care, Level 3 hospitals (DLSUMC and GEAMH) handle the most complex cases.
- For private hospitals, bring your PhilHealth ID and your HMO card, and ask the billing office before admission which ones they accept.

Frequently asked questions
Which hospitals in Cavite have an ICU?
Under DOH rules, every Level 2 and Level 3 hospital must have intensive care units, so all Level 2 and 3 hospitals in our list should have one. Hospitals whose own websites confirm ICU care include De La Salle University Medical Center in Dasmariñas (MICU, SICU, PICU and NICU), Emilio Aguinaldo College Medical Center in Dasmariñas, Tanza Specialists Medical Center and City of Imus Doctors Hospital (critical care). Call the hospital first to check if an ICU bed is free.
Where can I get an MRI in Cavite?
Hospitals that list MRI on their own websites are De La Salle University Medical Center (Dasmariñas), GenTri Doctors and Divine Grace Medical Center (General Trias), Tagaytay Medical Center and Tanza Doctors Hospital. The FDA's 2022 list of registered MRI facilities also includes City of Imus Doctors Hospital, Pagamutan ng Dasmariñas and Gentri Medical Center and Hospital. Most hospitals schedule MRI by appointment, so call first.
Where is the Malasakit Center in Cavite?
Cavite has Malasakit Centers at the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital in Bacoor (opened July 2021) and at the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in Trece Martires (opened January 2020). A Malasakit Center is a one-stop desk for medical and financial assistance. Ask the hospital for the Malasakit Center or the medical social worker, and call ahead to ask what documents to bring.
Which hospitals in Cavite have a 24-hour emergency room?
These hospitals say on their own websites that their emergency room is open 24 hours: De La Salle University Medical Center, GenTri Doctors, King Solomon Hospital and Medical Center, Tagaytay Medical Center, Tanza Specialists Medical Center, Tanza Doctors Hospital, Carmona Hospital and Medical Center and Metro South Medical Center. Most other hospitals also take emergencies, but call ahead if you can.
What is the difference between public and private hospitals in Cavite?
Public hospitals are funded with public money by the DOH, the province or a city or town, and DOH hospitals have Malasakit Centers for financial help. Private hospitals are owned and run by private groups and often need out-of-pocket payment or health insurance such as PhilHealth or an HMO. In 2024, Cavite had 17 government hospitals and 50 private ones, and the provincial government notes that its public hospitals are often overburdened.
Which hospitals in Cavite are Level 3?
Only two hospitals in Cavite were Level 3 in the 2024 provincial list: De La Salle University Medical Center in Dasmariñas and General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in Trece Martires. Level 3 hospitals are teaching hospitals with the widest range of specialist care, and they take referrals from smaller hospitals.
What number do I call in an emergency in Cavite?
Call 911, the national emergency hotline. You can also call the Cavite provincial emergency hotline at (046) 840-0774, or your town's emergency or rescue hotline listed in each city section above.
